Matthew Weedman lives two minutes from campus and is raising a 6- and a 8-year-old with his wife Annie who also teaches here at Wabash. Matthew exhibits his art across the country and internationally, with a recent exhibitions in South Korea and Denver. He is founding member of the Flinching Eye Performance collective, and a 2018 Indiana Humanities speakers bureau scholar. As a member of the board of “Magic for a Cause” charity, he supports area charities and Riley Children’s Hospital of Indianapolis by providing illusion education and materials for patients, as well as supporting other charities through events and benefits. Matthew has insatiable curiosity for art, culture, and humans which he investigates as both as an artist and professor at Wabash.

Michele Pittard is in her 22nd year at the College and has served in a variety of leadership roles including Coordinator of Faculty Development, Co-Chair of First-Year Courses, and Education Department Chair. For 20 years, she commuted from Lafayette, where she and her husband raised their three grown children, all of whom attended elementary and middle school in the Lafayette School Corporation and graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School. As a teacher educator and the Director of the College’s former Secondary Licensure Program, Michele has worked extensively with Montgomery County Schools, surrounding county schools, and a number of Indianapolis-area schools, where the College has several alumni working as teachers and administrators. When she’s not writing or teaching, Michele enjoys reading memoirs, historical fiction, and young adult novels; hacking her way around a golf course with her husband and adult kids; and catering to every whim of her two young grandsons.

Jennifer Morgan has been a Crawfordsville resident for 15 years now, with her two children, stepchild, and husband, Clyde Morgan, who is the Director of Track & Field/Cross Country and Assistant Director of Athletics for Scholar-Athlete Development. She served as the Assistant Basketball Coach at her alma mater Thiel College for four years and when she moved to Crawfordsville she has been well connected and involved with the community and the local school system. She was a study hall teacher and track & field coach at Crawfordsville Middle School for several years and for 11 years she helped coach the Crawfordsville High School Girls’ Basketball team. Her son and stepson graduated from Crawfordsville High School and currently has a daughter who is enrolled in the Crawfordsville school system. In Jennifer’s spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, as well as cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Christie Byun lives in Crawfordsville with her husband Ethan and their two young children. She’s happy to talk about daycare options in town. She is originally from California and enjoys food adventures at interesting, out of the way places. She's interested in the fashion industry and its environmental impacts, and how fast fashion has changed how we shop and dress. She's an avid knitter and practices yoga regularly. Christie loves traveling and her favorite places in the world are Egypt, Iceland, and South Korea. Her dream destinations are Patagonia and the Himalayas.

Noe Pliego Campos and his fiancée moved to Crawfordsville from North Carolina during the summer of 2023 and live within a five-minute drive of campus. Since moving, both have become avid fans of the town’s farmer’s market and the different events organized by the community, such as Oktoberfest and Halloween on West Main Street. They also have enjoyed many of the events organized on campus by faculty and student groups such as ‘shOUT, the LGBTQIA+ - straight alliance group, and La Alianza, the Latinx student group. He is happy to talk about the transition to a small rural Indiana town as well as to the unique student-led culture at Wabash College.

Sujata Saha joined Wabash in 2017 and is currently an Associate Professor of Economics. Her teaching and research interests are in the areas of International Finance and Trade and Open Economy Macroeconomics. Recently, she has expanded her focus to include Financial Inclusion. She currently lives in Crawfordsville with her husband. Originally from Kolkata, India, one of the most populous cities, she moved to the U.S. in 2011 and has had the opportunity to live in cities across the globe. Cooking different kinds of cuisine relaxes her and it gives her the outlet to recharge. She also loves traveling, painting, and indoor gardening. The local farmers market in Crawfordsville is one of her favorite places to visit in town. She also enjoys attending various events hosted by Wabash and the Crawfordsville community.

Clyde Morgan has two sons who graduated from Crawfordsville schools, and a daughter who is currently enrolled there. He is very involved in the community, including the “Man Up” Program in local middle schools, and serves as a motivational speaker throughout the year in the schools and the community. His wife, Jennifer, works at Wabash in the Malcolm X Institute of Black Studies, and has coached girls’ basketball for 11 years at the high school. The Morgans have lived in Crawfordsville 15 years, and, Clyde says, “We truly enjoy it. We have met some good people from all backgrounds and cultures.”

Susan Albrecht is the college’s fellowship advisor and also a member of the library staff. As both her parents were ‘Wabash Folk,’ she’s been part of the Wabash and Crawfordsville communities for decades. Both children graduated from Crawfordsville schools and Susan is still firmly connected through her role on the Crawfordsville School Board (currently in year 20), so she particularly welcomes questions about local public education. She also serves on the Crawfordsville Board of Public Works and Safety and can offer perspective on parks and recreation, community safety, and general “What’s going on in the community?” questions. She is also positioned to speak to the experience of being a Wabash parent, as her son is W’21. Outside of work, Susan can be found watching soccer, on the Tennis Center courts, running the clock for Wabash Basketball, taking walks around town, and enjoying bourbon and trivia nights at the local brewpub, Backstep.

Leann Parrish is Wabash’s Community Partnerships Coordinator and is heavily involved in events and activities happening around the area. Leann is married to a Wabash alum, and the mother of two young girls who attend Crawfordsville Schools. Leann volunteers regularly in her daughters’ classes and is active in the PTO. Leann is a member of the League of Women Voters, a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for youth in foster care, and attends the Well-Read Citizen’s Book Club. You can often find Leann out enjoying all Montgomery County has to offer!

An alumnus of the College, Kim King II has worked for the College in two different roles: previously, as an enrollment officer, and now as a staff member of the Malcom X Institute of Black Studies. His first career involving ministry, Kim cherishes the mentorship that happens in recruiting students to Wabash an in helping to retain them. He serves the College in other capacities as well, currently contributing to the Wabash Center for Teaching and Learning in Theology and Religion Advisory Board. Kim is familiar with living in the Crawfordsville community and commuting from nearby suburbs of Indianapolis. When not thinking about work, he can rather easily get lost in the spectacle of collegiate sports, the priority of his parents in Muncie, Indiana, and/or the merriment of travel and fine-ish dining.

Before Hugh Vandivier joined the staff in 2017, he served Wabash in various alumni volunteer capacities in Indianapolis as he carved out a career in marketing, video production, journalism, the arts, and tech. He's very connected to the city, lives in a Midtown neighborhood, and commutes to campus via carpool. He enjoys lap swimming, writing, reading, concerts, movies, sports, art openings, and great local food and drink. Hugh can offer perspective on the cultural landscape of Indy, whether it’s art openings on First Friday, seasonal festivals and events like Tonic Ball, independent bookshops, places of interest like the Vonnegut Library, or even the best places to enjoy great local food and drink.

Heather Thrush has 24 years of experience in Student Services in higher education, the last 14 at Wabash. She works closely with Wabash faculty and staff to meet the needs of our students with disabilities, and runs other campus-wide interventions to increase student retention and on-time graduation. Heather is a member of the South Montgomery High School Athletics Hall of Fame and serves on its board. She has resided in Montgomery County, Indiana, for 18 years of her life, and can offer a student and parent perspective on Southmont schools.

Brad Carlson lives near campus and has three kids ages 4, 8, and 11. Brad has an interest in nature and the environment and has a knowledge of outdoor activities and local foods in the region. Brad is also a pedestrian and cyclist and has familiarity with some local churches. His spouse has been heavily involved in infant through pre-K childcare and is currently board president of a daycare center, while Brad is on the board of directors of a free healthcare clinic for the uninsured. On campus, Brad is involved in the Environmental Concerns Committee and has been active in campus work to better serve under-represented and new majority students, and is himself a first-generation college student.
