From the hills of Maine to the western plain, Little Giants far and wide will return to campus this weekend for Wabash Homecoming.
In keeping with tradition, Homecoming weekend kicked off Thursday with Chapel Sing, one of the College’s oldest and most beloved rites of passage. The Class of 2029 demonstrated their mastery of the lyrics to “Old Wabash,” the nation’s longest fight song to earn their “W”—a badge of honor spray-painted on their white T-shirts by the Sphinx Club.
On Friday evening, Wabash celebrated the opening of the Latino Community Center, the home of the College’s La Alianza student group and a space to sustain important connections with the community. The celebration included a ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony, and the awarding of an honorary degree to Hipolito Rafel Chacon ’85.
The annual Alumni Chapel, which serves as the general meeting of the National Association of Wabash Men, took place Saturday morning. Several alumni were honored for their contributions to the college and their communities.
Alumni awards presented included:
Alumni, friends, and families gathered at Knowling Fieldhouse for Homecoming Luncheon to fuel up before Wabash football against Denison. The Little Giant football team had their first shutout win since 2016 beating the Big Red 36-0.
Rounding out an action-packed day, the Wabash Glee Club will host a Homecoming Concert Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in Salter Hall.
