ENG 290 Special Topics in Language

Psycholinguistics

This is an introduction to the study of language and psychological behavior. We will consider current issues in language and the mind, including the structure and processing of language, language acquisition in children, and how humans store and retrieve linguistic information. No previous experience in linguistics is necessary, although it would be helpful if the student has taken Introduction to Psychology. There will be weekly quizzes, a short paper, and a comprehensive final examination. This course is offered in the second half of the spring semester.
