WLAIP Student Mentors | WLAIP

Upper class MENTORS and tutors will live IN THE DORM WITH THE FRESHMEN, will be THERE TO ADDRESS QUESTIONS STUDENTS HAVE ABOUT THE INSTITUTE AND ABOUT WABASH, will help STUDENTS WITH THEIR CLASSWORK DURING THE INSTITUTE, AND will have RESPONSIBILITY FOR ORGANIZING PARTICULAR COMPONENTS OF THE INSTITUTE.

 

We are currently selecting this year's mentors and tutors. see below for students who served as tutors and mentors last year:

austin pickett '26, veedersburg, in
Political science major, english MINOR

Austin is a rising junior, and a brother at Phi Delta Theta. He is a receiver for the Wabash Football Team and a member of Student Senate. His hobbies are reading, writing, sports, lifting weights, watching movies, playing videos games, and hanging out with others. After college, he plans on attending law school and working as a civil servant.

OLIVIER TUYISHIME '25, INDIANAPOLIS, IN

POLITICAL SCIENCE MAJOR, BLACK STUDIES MINOR

Olivier is a rising senior, employed with the career service, and a brother of Phi Gamma Delta. He is involved with the Malcolm X Institute of Black Studies, African Students Association, and is the mental health chair for his fraternity. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball, soccer, reading, and going out with his friends. After college, Olivier plans to attend law school in hopes of practice immigration law.

Joshua Whack '26, carmel, IN

RHETORIC MAJOR, BLACK STUDIES MINOR

Josh is a rising Junior at Wabash college, where he is a part of multiple organizations on campus. He is currently an active member in the Malcom X institute of Black studies, and serves as the Building manager and Office assistant in the MXI. Josh is also a very talented Student athlete competing on the Wabash College basketball Team. Josh enjoys Getting to know people, working out, and playing video games. After wabash, Josh plans on pursuing higher education and getting a masters degree in business and working in the marketing field.

JUAN CALVILLO '26, MCALLEN, TX

SPANISH MAJOR, EDUCATION STUDIES AND COMPUTER SCIENCE MINORS

Juan is a rising Junior at Wabash College, Where he holds multiple leadership positions. Currently he serves as Vice-President of La Alianza and is a member of the Fiji fraternity. Juan is also a member of the Wabash Live Broadcast team and was part of W.L.A.I.P. during the summer before his Freshman year. When he is not busy with his commitments, Juan enjoys running, listening to house music, and making new connections. After Wabash, Juan plans to become an educator with his Spanish major and Education minor.
