Credit by Examinationand Advanced Placement Credit
The College grants credit for College Entrance Examination Board Advanced Placement (AP) results according to the following systems:
One to two course credits will be granted for an Advanced Placement exam score of 4 or 5 upon the completion of a second course in the department with a grade of B- or better. However, in Mathematics and Modern and Ancient languages the department may grant or deny Advanced Placement credit based on proficiency exam performance and may waive the additional course requirement.

Notes:
One course credit in language studies will be granted for Advanced Placement English Language/Composition exam with a score of 4 or 5 upon successful completion of an English language studies course with a B- or better. One course credit in literature will be granted for Advanced Placement English Literature/Composition exam with a score of 4 or 5 upon the successful completion of an English literature course with a B- or better. If a student takes both placement exams and receives a 4 or 5 on both, he will receive a maximum of two additional credits, as explained above.
Advanced Placement credits earned in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics will NOT fulfill the college laboratory science distribution requirement.
