Description: This tutorial will explore the evolution of nuclear technologies, from the discovery of fission to the current day. We will explore the changing views of these technologies, through film, literature, and the developing science related to these technologies. Special attention will be paid to impacts in energy, weapons, and medicine. Students will also develop skills in interpreting and presenting scientific data. Students are expected to develop an understanding the processes of scientific inquiry, and the impact that science can or cannot have on public policy.
