Auditions Set for First Theater Production

Crawfordsville, Ind. – Auditions for the Wabash Theater production of The Newton Project by Dwight Watson will take place at 7:00 p.m. on September 2 and 3 in Ball Theater in the Fine Arts Center. There will be roles for 5-7 men and 3-5 women. Scripts may be signed out from the Fine Arts Center Box Office on Grant Avenue.

The Newton Project introduces a lively collection of solo voices, including a soulful percussionist, an ex-convict auditioning for a play, an unemployed sailor, and an amateur float designer. This series of short plays, including The Big Bang, A Seamless Pitch, Birth of a Star, Stage Fright Pianologue, The 1st Dead Man in Grover’s Corners, Lizzie’s Lilliput and Reign in the Sterling Sphinxes, pays tribute to an unseen character by the name of Newton, a guiding force in the acceleration of unexpected theatrical moments. Written and directed by Wabash College theater professor Dwight Watson, The Newton Monologs, recently published by Contemporary Drama Service, will premiere at Wabash with this performance.

The production of The Newton Project will be performed at 8:00 p.m. each evening, October 2-5 in Ball Theater in the Fine Arts Center.
