Wabash to Host Nationally Acclaimed Elections Expert

Wabash College invites the public to the President’s Distinguished Speaker Series on Tuesday, Oct. 6, when Dr. Justin Grimmer will provide keynote remarks entitled “Democracy Thrives: Why the Left and Right are Wrong that American Elections are Broken.”

Dr. Grimmer will speak at 8 p.m. in Salter Hall in the Fine Arts Center.

The timing of his visit – one month before mid-term races – provides the community an opportunity to hear fromone of the nation’s leading experts in democracy and elections.

Dr. Grimmer graduated from Wabash summa cum laude with double majors in political science and mathematics. He earned a master’s degree and Ph.D. from Harvard University.

Currently, he is the Morris M. Doyle Centennial Professor in Public Policy at Stanford University, Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, and Co-Director of the Democracy and Polarization Lab. His research focuses on Congress, elections, representation, artificial intelligence, and data science.

Dr. Grimmer regularly testifies as an expert witness in litigation on election administration and allegations of voter fraud. He is the author of three books and scores of published papers and journal articles.

This timely lecture is free and open to the public.
