David William Tracy was awarded the Honorary Degree, Doctor of Humane Letters (L.H.D.), during Commencement ceremonies at Wabash College on Sunday, May 12.

David William Tracy is a Roman Catholic priest and is one of the preeminent Catholic theologians in the world. He is the Andrew Thomas Greeley and Grace McNichols Greeley Distinguished Service Professor of Catholic Studies and Professor of Theology and of the Philosophy of Religion at the University of Chicago. Not only is he a prolific writer, he also serves as a genuine pastor to his students, who include Wabash’s Stephen Webb and David Blix.

Located in Crawfordsville, Indiana and founded in 1832, Wabash is a private liberal arts college which teaches men to think critically, act responsibly, lead effectively, and live humanely. Wabash traditionally ranks among the finest undergraduate colleges in America by U.S. News and World Report and is featured in Loren Pope’s book Colleges That Change Lives.
