Richard Strasser '02

Rick is a Senior Consultant with IBM’s Global Business Services Public Sector Financial Management practice. During his 5 years with IBM, he has held several roles on various projects with the Army’s financial reporting office. Currently he manages the Army’s financial improvement plan, which is the Army’s roadmap to obtain an unqualified audit opinion on its financial statements. He also led the implementation of a property accountability system at several Army installations. In 2006, IBM sponsored Rick to attend Syracuse University, from where he graduated with honors and earned his MBA and MPA (Executive) in 2007. Rick also obtained his Certified Government Financial Manager designation in 2008. In addition to his client-facing work, Rick supports the Public Sector FM practice area leadership with several internal projects.

Rick serves on the NCAWM Board of Directors, as Class Agent, DC Monon Bell telecast coordinator, and past W.A.B.A.S.H. Day coordinator. He also established the annual alumni golf outing in Lafayette in 2003. Rick serves on the Special Olympics DC Summer Games Management Team, most recently as Assistant Games Director. He and his wife, Kristin, are members of the 1832 Society and live just outside of Washington, DC, in Falls Church, Virginia.
