Creighton Named Conference Coach of the Year

Wabash College head football coach Chris Creighton has been named the North Coast Athletic Conference 2002 Football Coach of the Year.

Creighton, in his second season as the head coach of the Little Giants, has led the team to the NCAA playoffs for only the second time in school history. Wabash finished the regular season 10-0 under Creighton and his staff. His assistant coaches are Neal Neathery, Mark Jozwiak, Brian Ward, Rich Lucero, Steve House, Rick Schavietello, and Alex Fruth.

Creighton became the first person to win an NCAC title as a coach and a player. He was the starting quarterback for the Kenyon Lords team that tied for the NCAC title in 1989. Creighton was also named the Mike Gregory Award winner that season as the NCAC Offensive Player of the Year.

Creighton was the head football coach at Ottawa University prior to coming to Wabash. He has a career record of 51-9. He is the first coach at Wabash to earn Coach of the Year honors from the NCAC since the Little Giants joined the league in 1999.
