Tankers Take Third Dual Meet Victory with 122-112 Win at Wittenberg

The Wabash swimming and diving team took first place in seven of the 13 events to edge Wittenberg University 122-112 on Friday night.

The dual meet was the first against another NCAC school for the Little Giants since joining the conference in 1999.

Senior Nick Collins ( Michigantown, IN/Clinton Central) was a two-event winner in the individual races. Collins touched first in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:38.31, and was the top finisher in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:10.87.

Junior Brandon Peacock (Crawfordsville, IN/Crawfordsville) was first in the 200-yard butterfly (2:11.33), as was Brett Findley (JR/Bargersville, IN/Franklin Community) in the 100-yard freestyle (50.66). Wabash junior Demitrian Cook (Woodbridge, VA/C.D. Hylton Senior) swept the diving competion. He was the one-meter winner with 124.30 points and took the three-meter win with 125.40 points.

Wabash is 3-0 in dual meets this season and will host the Wabash Invitational this Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis.
