Wabash Finishes Sixth at GLCA Invitational

The Wabash cross country team took sixth place out of ten teams at the Great Lakes Colleges Association Invitational, held Saturday morning at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio.

Junior Dan Ruge (Chesterton, IN/Chesterton) was the top individual finisher for the Little Giants, taking 15th with a time of 28:36. Senior Mark Sherer (Valparaiso, IN/Valparaiso) finished 21st (29:04).

Wabash scored 154 points in the meet. DePauw took first place with 38 points. Kenyon was second (56 points), with Albion (78), Denison (148), and Wooster (151) finishing third through fifth. Oberlin was seventh (170), Earlham took eighth place (177). Kalamazoo (250) and Ohio Wesleyan (256) rounded out the team scoring in the men's championship run.

Wabash will participate in the Indiana Intercollegiate Championships on Friday, September 20. Indiana University will run the meet in Bloomington, Indiana. The men's race is set to start at 3 p.m.
