Six-Goal Explosion Ends Wabash Three-Game Winning Streak

Six goals by Aquinas College brought an end to the Wabash College soccer team's three-game winning streak on Sunday as the Little Giants lost 6-0 in the Scotland Yard Classic at Alma, Michigan.

Aquinas outshot the Little Giants 29-8 in a physical match. Thirty-two total fouls were called in the match, 20 on Aquinas and 12 on Wabash. Four of the six goals for the Saints came on penalty kicks.

Wabash managed seven saves on 13 shots on goal by Aquinas. The Little Giants put five shots on net in the match.

Wabash (3-2) will open the home portion of the 2002 season on Wednesday afternoon against Anderson University. The match at Mud Hollow Field begins at 4 p.m.
