Wabash Falls 3-1 To Kalamazoo in Soccer Season Opener

The Wabash soccer teamed opened the 2002 season against Kalamazoo College in the DePauw Soccer Classic on Saturday. The Little Giants fell 3-1 to the Hornets.

Freshman forward Chase Lamm (Brownsburg, IN/Brownsburg) drew the Little Giants to within one goal after falling behind 2-0 to Kalamazoo. Lamm found the back of the net in the 73rd minute, scoring the first goal of his Wabash career. The goal came on an assist from sophomore midfielder Morgan Patchell (Kalamazoo, MI/Loy Norrix), the first of his career, as well. The Hornets added a final goal in the last minute of play as Wabash attacked the offensive end of the field in an attempt to tie the score.

Senior goalkeeper Graham Bailey (Evansville, IN/Evansville North) stopped four of the five shots he faced in the first 45 minutes of the game. Freshman Will McAdams (Carmel, IN/Carmel) turned away three of five shots in the second half for Wabash.

Wabash (0-1) continues play in the DePauw Soccer Classic on Sunday afternoon with a noon match against Albion College (0-1).
