Wabash Picked Second by Media, Coaches in NCAC Poll

The Wabash College football was picked to finish second in the annual North Coast Athletic Conference pre-season coaches and media poll. The poll was released as part of the NCAC Media Day, held Thursday, August 8 in Delaware, Ohio.

Wabash received 91 points and two first-place votes in the coaches poll. The Little Giants received four first-place votes and 205 total points in the media pre-season rankings. Four-time conference defending champion Wittenberg was picked to finish ahead of the Little Giants. Wittenberg scored 97 points and eight first-place votes in the coaches poll. The Tigers had 226 points and 18 first-place votes in the media poll. Ohio Wesleyan third in both polls, receiving one first-place vote in the media poll.

Wabash will open the 2002 campaign on Saturday, September 14 at Byron P. Hollett Little Giant Stadium against Kalamazoo College. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
