Jazz Combos and Wamidan to Play Fall Concert

The Wabash College Jazz Combos and Wamidan World Music Performance Ensemble will present their Fall Concert at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 19, in Salter Hall in the Fine Arts Center

Under the direction of Scott Pazera, the Jazz Combo format allows the listener a more focused listening experience and shines a light on the true star of any song, the melody. Presenting a mix of blues, Latin and funky numbers, this will be a performance with something for everyone to enjoy.

Under the direction of James Makubuya, the Wamidan World Music Performance ensemble will give the audience in attendance a virtual music-cultural tour that will cover pieces from Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and South America. Ensemble members will perform on multiple folk musical instruments that include: the Chinese erhu 2-string fiddle, the East African 1-string fiddle, 8-string bowl lyres, 9-string bow harps, 12-slab log xylophones, cone-shaped drums, the Caribbean Steel drums, and more!

The concert is free and open to the public. No tickets are required.
