Last Year: Andrew Mellon Professor-in-Charge at the Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies in Rome.
Publications: The Roman Street: Urban Life and Society in Pompeii, Herculaneum and Rome (Cambridge University Press, 2017) awarded the James Henry Breasted Prize from the American Historical Association (best book in English in any field of history prior to CE 1000).
This Year: Back in the Wabash classroom, and on football Saturdays bangs buckets and plays herald trumpet with the Wabash Pep Band.
