Senior Justin Killian Takes Top Honors at Baldwin Oratorical Contest

Crawfordsville, Ind. — Justin Killian, a senior at Wabash College, took top honors at the 129th Annual Baldwin Oratorical Contest held recently at Wabash.

Acclaimed as one of the oldest speech contests in the nation, the Baldwin Prize in Oratory is awarded annually to students who “compose and pronounce the best orations.”

Killian won first place with his speech entitled “Looking for the REAL Pony on the Media Carousel.” He is the son of Donna Outlaw of Magnolia, Texas.

Freshman Clinton Mitchell’s speech, “The Real Truth about Reality Television,” placed second. He is the son of Charles and Sharon Mitchell of Miramar, Fla.

Senior Chris Miltenberg placed third with a speech entitled, “Everything I Needed to Know I Learned from Television.” He is the son of Steven and Connie Miltenberger of West Chester, Ohio.

Other finalists included junior Keivin Kilgore, son of Kenneth and Deborah Kilgore of DeSoto, Texas and senior Connor Kuba, son of Roger and Jane Kuba of Westfield, Ind.
