The Wabash College Chamber Orchestra will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 3, in Salter Concert Hall in the Fine Arts Center.
Under the direction of Alfred Abel, the Chamber Orchestra draws its members from the Wabash student body, musicians on the faculty and staff, and professional and amateur musicians from the surrounding community.
Sunday’s program will feature George Bizet's Suite # 1 from L'Arlesienne and Johannes Brahms' Symphony #3 in F Major. Best known for his immortal opera Carmen, Bizet’s overture from L’Arlesienne is a familiar Christmas holiday melody. Brahms’ third symphony has been a keystone of the standard orchestra repertoire for more than a century.
This Music Department concert is free and open to the public. Families are encouraged to attend this wonderful, audience-friendly introduction to great classical music.
