Pioneer Chapel“We’re always pleased to earn a spot in Princeton Review’s college guide,” said Wabash President Scott Feller. “This guide goes to great lengths to understanding the student experience, which is why we’re happy to be ranked among the top 20 colleges in the nation in so many categories. Of course, we are most excited to be ranked for the accessibility and engagement of our faculty and the overall classroom experience—not to mention that our students love Wabash.”

Inclusion in The Princeton Review’s “Best 392 Colleges” indicates Wabash’s strong standing among the top 15% of more than 2,500 U.S.-based four-year colleges.

The review includes rating scores in eight general categories, including quality of life, campus life, extracurriculars, social scene, and town life. Wabash received a score of 97 and 94 (out of 99) in the categories associated with accessibility of faculty and interesting faculty. Further, the institution received a 93 rating for financial aid and an 89 for admissions.

“Part of what the rankings capture is that the academic experience provided by Wabash faculty is top notch, from teaching quality to innovative pedagogy to the deep relationships formed between faculty and students,” said Todd McDorman, dean of the college and professor of rhetoric. “Rankings only tell a small part of how impactful a Wabash education is, but it is gratifying to see our faculty recognized for their skill and dedication. I encourage prospective students and families to check it out in person for themselves.”

Now in its 35th year of recognizing outstanding colleges and universities, The Princeton Review offers 50 ranking lists, each identifying the top 25 colleges nationally (of the 392 profiled) in those specific categories. The Princeton Review surveys more than 172,000 students who rate and report on their own campus experiences through an 85-question survey.

The surveys address a range of topics that prospective students might find interesting or ask about on a campus visit, from academics and administration to amenities and politics. Each ranking is based solely on student survey responses.

“Wabash is a special place where students are given an unusual amount of freedom and responsibility,” said Soctt Brown, dean of students. “That means there are a wealth of opportunities for involvement in and out of class, on and off campus, guided by a deeply professional, connected, and caring staff. This ownership creates high expectations for students and contributes to broad and varied ways students participate in all aspects of student life and rely on a closely connected community.”
