Worker Compensation Notice

WORKERS’ COMPENSATION NOTICE

Wabash College is required under Indiana Code 22‑3‑2‑22 to notify employees that they are covered by Workers’ Compensation insurance and to make the required notice accessible to all employees, including remote staff.
The Indiana Workers’ Compensation Board also requires employers to post an approved Workers’ Compensation notice.

All work-related injuries or incidents (for example: cuts, chemical exposure, slips/falls, head impact, or injuries occurring during work activities) must be reported immediately to the Human Resources Department.

To report an injury, complete a First Report of Injury (see below) and submit it to the Human Resources Office and/or your Supervisor as soon as possible following the incident.

  1. Report All Work‑Related Injuries Immediately

All work‑related injuries or incidents must be reported as soon as they occur, including:

  • Cuts or lacerations
  • Chemical exposure
  • Slips, trips, falls
  • Impact to the head
  • Injuries arising during assigned work activities

Immediately notify your supervisor and Human Resources, then complete a First Report of Injury (FROI).

Emergency

Call 911 for emergency transport to the nearest Emergency Room.

Non‑Emergency

Contact Franciscan Working Well at 765‑362‑6374 to schedule an appointment.

If you are uncertain what to do, call the Director of Human Resources at ext. 6418.

  1. Accident Fund Claims Reporting (Required)

Accident Fund requires that all claims be reported within 24 hours of the injury.

Human Resources will submit the claim on your behalf

 

  1. Required Indiana Workers’ Compensation Legal Notice

Your employer is required to provide payment of benefits under the Worker’s Compensation Act of the State of Indiana.
Any employee who is injured while at work must report the injury immediately to a supervisor, employer, or designated representative.

This notice must be:

  • posted in a conspicuous location, and
  • made available electronically for remote employees, which Wabash provides via this page.

Employees are encouraged to follow these procedures.
Failure to report an injury promptly may result in denial of Workers’ Compensation benefits.

Wabash College also posts the official Accident Fund “Notice to All Employees” poster to meet the required state posting standards.
