| Description: | This course will delve more deeply into concepts introduced in CHE 241, emphasizing structural principles, thermodynamics, and kinetics of organometallic systems. Through reviewing recently published literature, we will identify and discuss common motifs that garner research interest within the field. Anaerobic techniques for preparing and characterizing air-sensitive complexes will be introduced, though there will be no scheduled weekly laboratory period. This one-half credit course meets twice a week for the first half of the semester. |
