Title: Water As the New Oil
Course Section Number: FRT-101-08
Department: Freshman Tutorial
Description: Water as the New Oil: How Differential Water Access Impacts Public Health and the Pursuit of Happiness In 2019 the World Health Organization reported that 1 out of 3 people globally lack safe drinking water. How did this disparity of Water Haves and Have Nots come to be? How is water access changing with climate change? What are the impacts on human health, community, and commerce for diverse populations? How can you make a difference? In our tutorial, we will contemplate the intricate historical and modern linkages between water access and human wellbeing. Using case studies, we will apply multiple liberal arts lenses to consider how best to address water-related global (including local) crises. What does it mean to think critically, lead effectively, act responsibly, and live humanely in an inequitable world? Come share your thoughts
