ECO 205 Development of Economic Thought

Designed for non-majors as well as majors, this course examines the intellectual history of economics. The ideas of great economists (including Smith, Ricardo, Marx, Keynes, Schumpeter and Knight) are analyzed and compared. Particular emphasis is placed on differing views toward capitalism—especially predictions about its eventual fate. This course is offered in the fall semester.
