Year End FAQ

Ceremony

Commencement is on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. in Little Giant Stadium.

Commencement program and details: https://www.wabash.edu/commencement/

If you are unable to attend in person, the ceremony will be streamed live at https://www.wabash.edu/live/.

Guest Limits/ Location

There is NO LIMIT to the number of guests a graduate may have at the commencement ceremony, as it is held outside, in Little Giant Stadium. There are no tickets required. However, our rain location is Chadwick, which has a capacity of 1900.

On-campus streaming location - Knowling Fieldhouse

Parking

There are some lot closures on campus due to construction projects. A map of available parking can be downloaded here.

Cap & Gown

Your senior’s cap, gown, and hood will be provided to him and are a gift from the College. He has given his size information to the Registrar, and the items have been ordered.

He should pick up his regalia during finals week at the bookstore. An announcement will come from the bookstore to your son with specific dates and times for distribution once the items arrive on campus.

Baccalaureate Chapel

Baccalaureate Chapel is held the morning of Commencement at 11 a.m. in Pioneer Chapel, but space is limited. If you plan to attend, arriving with plenty of time to get a seat is strongly recommended. Consider limiting the number of people in your party who attend this to allow for as many students as possible to have a family member present.

Commencement Buffet Luncheon Tickets

An optional buffet lunch is available from 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. on the day of Commencement in Knowling Fieldhouse.  The cost for tickets to the buffet is $30 for adults, $10 for children 6-12 years old, and no cost for children 5 and under.  You will need to purchase a ticket for your senior if you choose to attend the buffet.  Tickets can be purchased online via the Commencement web page, and your son will have received an email with information and instructions for purchasing tickets.

Commencement Photos

Our Communications & Marketing team takes individual photos of each graduate after they cross the stage. These photos are mailed to the primary household address mid to late summer. IF your student has more than one household, please email parents@wabash.edu to let us know so we can inform them second copy is needed.

 Ceremony Length

The commencement ceremony lasts approximately 2 hours from procession to recession of graduates. The ceremony is outside unless we have rain. It can be very hot, so guests should come prepared with water. Campus buildings, with a few exceptions, are closed for the day.

 Senior Move-out date

Seniors are required to vacate their living units no later than 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 18th.

 Move Out Expectations

All Wabash men are expected to leave their living units in equal or better condition than how they found them. Property destruction and vandalism of living units and their contents will not be tolerated. Students participating in such behavior will be asked to move out immediately and billed for damages. They have spent four years living the Gentlemen’s Rule, which applies during Senior Week and beyond. Detailed end-of-year checkout procedures are available for download HERE.
