Description: | This is a 1st half semester course. An advanced treatment of chemical instrumentation and data analysis, with a focus on instrument design and function, data acquisition, and signal to noise enhancement. Topics include optical instrument design, chromatography, mass spectrometry, analog to digital conversion, circuitry, linear and nonlinear least squares analysis, and multivariate analyses/ machine learning. Two meetings per weekfor the first half of the semester, divided between classroom and laboratory work. |
