Robinson's Goal Not Enough For Wabash

Senior Ben Robinson (Indianapolis, IN/North Central) scored his third goal of the season in the second half of Wednesday's match against Earlham College, but it was not enough as the Quakers defeated Wabash 4-1 in North Coast Athletic Conference play.

Robinson capitalized on a direct kick in the 68th minute to cut the Earlham lead to 3-1 after three first-half goals by the Quakers. Robinson lead the Little Giants offensively against Earlham with five shots and three shots on goal. Senior Momodou Jagne (Banjul, Gambia/Gambia) came off the bench to fire four shots with one shot on goal. Jagne played in only his second match since going down to an ankle injury against DePauw on September 19. Sean McNulty (Ft. Wayne, IN/Bishop Luers) added two shots, and Galen Collins (Cranburry, NJ/Home) had one shot. Sophomore goalie Graham Bailey (Evansville, IN/Evansville North) faced 13 shots by the Quakers, stopping nine.

"They were a very good soccer team," said coach George Bailey. "We continue to improve in areas, but tonight we faced a team that was quicker and stronger than we were, and reacted to the ball much better than we did."

The Little Giants move to 3-11 with the loss, and are 0-7 in the NCAC. The Little Giants travel to Wooster on Saturday as they continue conference play with a 1 p.m. start.
