Wabash College Chosen To Host NCAA Wrestling Regional

Crawfordsville - Wabash College was selected to host the 20001 NCAA Division III Midwest Wrestling Regional. The announcement came Monday morning from Wabash Athletic Director Vernon Mummert.

The Regional will feature the top wrestlers and wrestling programs from the area. The announcement continues the relationship between Wabash College and the NCAA, as Wabash has previously hosted NCAA football, wrestling, and basketball tournament events as recently as 1998.

"We are certainly happy to have been chosen to host," said Mummert. "I believe this shows our continued support of our long-standing wrestling tradition here at Wabash."

The Regional Championship meet will take place February 23-25 at the Allen Athletic and Recreation Center. Times and ticket prices have not been announced at this time.

This will mark the third wrestling tournament to be hosted by Wabash College during the 2000-2001 season. The Allen Center will be the site for the 41st Annual Little State Wrestling Tournament December 1-2, and the 17th Annual Monon Bell Wrestling Classic January 26-27.
