Mills Qualifies for Indiana Amateur Championship

Wabash College golfer Joe Mills (Lafayette, IN/Central Catholic) shot a 75 and won a playoff against three other golfers to advance to the 102nd Indiana Amatuer Golf Championship.

Mills fired a 75 at Lafayette Battleground to tie with Brad Chesterman, Alex Howell, and Chris Mayson. He won the playoff to earn one of eight spots in the qualifying site #12 group, giving him a chance to play in the Championship. The 102nd Indiana Amateur will be held June 17-20 at the Victoria National Golf Club in Newburgh, Indiana.

Mills will join Montgomery County golfers Terry Kendricks and Dave Williamson in the Championship. Kendricks finished second at the qualifier with a 71, two strokes behind Chad Cooper's 69. Dave Williamson tied for fifth with a 74.

The qualifying match at Lafayette Battleground featured golfers from Fountain, Warren, Benton, Montgomery, Tippecanoe, White, Carroll, Jasper, Newton, and Pulaski counties.
