Little Giants Bring Giant-Engineer Cup Back to Wabash

The Wabash College golf team captured the Giant-Engineer Match Play Classic Cup on Tuesday afternoon with a 6-4 overall victory over Rose-Hulman.

The Little Giants returned the cup to Wabash after taking a 4-1 lead in the first round on April 9 at the Hulman Links in Terre Haute. Rose-Hulman took a 3-2 victory in the second round at the Trophy Club on Tuesday, but could not retain the cup.

Junior Chris Miltenberger (West Chester, OH/Lakota West) took a seven and five win in individual match play. Freshman Jon Engel (Evansville, IN/Evansville Bosse) capped the victory for the Little Giants with a three and two win in his match play competition.

Wabash will travel to Wooster on Friday to participate in the College of Wooster/Bank One Classic.

Chris Miltenberger (W) defeated Jared Farmer (RH) seven and five
Jon Engel (W) defeated Matt McCormick (RH) three and two
Chuck Maupin (RH) defeated Ben Tooley (W) three and two
Jeremy Rochen and Corey Trobaugh (RH) defeated Joe Mills and Caleb Selby (W) one up.
