Netters Stay Undefeated with Win over Earlham

The Wabash College tennis team played its first conference match of the season on Wednesday night, defeating North Coast Athletic Conference Western Division and in-state rival Earlham College 5-2. The victory moves the Little Giants' season record to 3-0.

Wabash swept the doubles portion of the competition. Sophomore Mike Lynch (Evansville, IN/Evansville North) and junior Scott Paramoure (New Brownfels, TX/New Brownfels) were 8-4 winners at number one doubles. Senior captain Daniel Altman (Monticello, IN/Twin Lakes) and sophomore Cameron Starnes (Crawfordsville, IN/Crawfordsville) combined for an 8-6 victory at number two doubles. Sophomore Hadi Motiee (Muncie, IN/Muncie Burris) and freshman Nathan Cain (Columbus, IN/Columbus North) took an 8-4 win in number three doubles.

Lynch moved to 3-0 for the season at number one singles with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Earlham's Adam Turner. Paramoure was a 7-5, 7-6 winner at number two singles. Altman and Cain picked up singles victories for the Little Giants, as well.

Wabash will play two home matches on Saturday, playing the University of Chicago at noon, followed by a 3 p.m. match against Carnegie Mellon at the Collett Tennis Center.
