Little Giant Tankers Finish Third at Conference Meet

Wabash College placed third at the North Coast Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championship held in Canton, Ohio, February 13-16. The Little Giants score 825 points in the nine-team competition. NCAA III National Champion Kenyon College successfully defended its conference title, tallying 1565.5 points, just ahead of Denison University with 1513.5.

Five Little Giants received All-Conference honors. Freshman diver Aaron Stump (Valparaiso, IN/Valparaiso) placed third in the three-meter diving with 260.65 points and was fifth on the one-meter board. The Wabash 200 medley relay with Brad Williams (Columbus, IN/Columbus North), Colin Fahey (Indianapolis, IN/Bishop Chatard), Brandon Peacock (Crawfordsville, IN/Crawfordsville), and Bernie Manker (Grand Rapids, MI/Northview) was third in 1:37.43, earning All-Conference honors.

Peacock was the Wabash high-point scorer with 60 points, placing seventh in the 100 butterfly (52.75), eighth in the 100 freestyle (48.22), and 11th in the 50 freestyle (21.98-prelim time). Williams scored 55 points by placing eighth in the 500 freestyle (prelim time- 4:46.79), ninth in the 1650 freestyle (16:45.37), and 14th in the 200 free (1:48.84). Fahey placed seventh in the 100 breaststroke (1:00.15) and 15th in 200 breaststroke (2:17.12). Manker scored in the 50, 100, and 200 freestyle.

Wabash will conclude the regular season on Saturday, February 23 at DePauw University. The meet begins at 2 p.m. The Little Giants are 4-2 on the season.
