Little Giants Second after First Day of DePauw Invitational

The Wabash College swimmers stood second out of 10 teams after one day of competition at the DePauw Invitational.

Wabash finished the first day's events with 345 points, trailing Washington University (St. Louis) by 66 points. The Little Giants were 51 points of ahead of third-place DePauw.

Sophomore Brett Findley (Bargersville, IN/Franklin Community) helped Wabash with a first-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly. Findley trimmed .72 seconds off his morning time in the preliminary race to touch in first place in 1:58.07.

Brandon Peacock (Crawfordsville, IN/Crawfordsville) took second place in the 100 freestyle with a time of 48.04. Second place finishes also went to freshman Colin Fahey (Indianapolis, IN/Bishop Chatard) in the 100 breaststroke (59.58), Brad Williams (Columbus, IN/Columbus North) in the 500 freestyle (4:48.93), and the 200 freestyle relay (1:28.70), 800 freestyle relay (7:20.24), and 400 medley relay teams (3:38.36).

The meet continues on Saturday with the prelims set for 9:30 a.m. and the finals scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
