Soccer Team Suffers 5-1 Loss at Earlham

The Wabash soccer team traveled to Richmond, Indiana on Wednesday to face the Earlham Quakers only to come away on the short end of a 5-1 score.

Junior forward Carlos Aguirre (Indianapolis, IN/Ben Davis) continued his scoring streak with a game-tying goal in the 24th minute. Aguirre's goal was his seventh of the season and his fourth goal in the last five games. He has registered a goal or an assist in seven of the ten Little Giant games this season.

Wabash stayed with the Quakers in the statistics. The Little Giants managed 16 shots to 19 for Earlham. Wabash had seven shots on goal compared to 11 for the Quakers. But three goals in the second half after Earlham scored the go-ahead goal with less than two minutes remaining in the first half made the difference.

Wabash is 3-5-2 for the season, 1-2-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference. The Little Giants return to Mud Hollow Field for a Homecoming match at 1 p.m. on Saturday against NCAC foe Wooster.
