Knott Sets Wabash TD Passing Record

Junior quarterback Jake Knott (Lafayette, IN/Jefferson) became the all-time leader in career touchdown passes in Wabash College history on Saturday with two TD strikes against Oberlin.

Knott threw touchdown passes to Ryan Short (Indianapolis, IN/Perry Meridian) and Kurt Casper (Greenwood, IN/Center Grove). The scoring strikes were the 55th and 56th of his career, moving him past legendary Wabash quarterback Chris Ings ’96 and into the top spot on the all-time Wabash list.

Knott already owns the Wabash records for most passing yards in a game (459 vs. Allegheny), most touchdown passes in a game (6 vs Allegheny and Hiram), and most passing yards in a season (2,739 in 2000). He also holds the NCAA Division III record for most passing yards by a freshman when he threw for 2,612 yards in 1999.

Knott is currently second on the Wabash career passing list, trailing Ings by 1,239 yards.
