Four Little Giants Participate in ITA Regionals

Four Wabash College tennis players competed in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III Men’s Central Region Championships this weekend. The event was held at DePauw University beginning Friday and ran throughout the weekend.

Sophomore Mike Lynch (Evansville, IN/Evansville North) was seeded 13th in singles play. He won his first round match 6-3, 6-4 over Clint Bailey of Wooster. Lynch lost to Eric Cusick of Wittenberg 6-4, 6-1 in the second round.

Scott Paramoure (Bath, PA/New Brownfels - Logansport) and Dan Altman (Monticello, IN/Twin Lakes) also won their opening matches. Paramoure won 6-3, 6-0 over Basil Alsikafi of Chicago in the first round, while Altman was a 6-2, 6-3 winner over Adam Stiska of Allegheny in the qualifying round. Both players lost in the second matches.

Lynch and Paramoure combined for a first-round win the doubles portion of the tournament with a 6-4, 7-6 (6) victory on Saturday. Altman and Constantine Alexander (Kokomo, IN/Kokomo) also won their first doubles match in the tournament, a come-from-behind 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 effort. Neither team advanced in their second matches.
