Schubert, Reisig Lead Little Giants to Victory

Two newcomers to the Wabash Soccer squad led the Little Giants to a 2-1 victory at Anderson University on Saturday.

Freshman Dan Schubert (Lebanon, IL/Lebanon) (photo) and junior-transfer Adam Reisig (Kansas City, MO/Baker College) helped the Little Giant squad move to 2-1 on the season with the win against the Ravens. Schubert opened the scoring early in the first half, scoring on a crossing pass from Tom Reifenberg (Ft. Wayne, IN/Bishop Dwenger) 9:11 into the game to put Wabash up 1-0.

Reisig put the Little Giants in front 2-0 late in the second period on passes from Carlos Aguirre (Indianapolis, IN/Ben Davis) and Mike Krasnodembski (Westerville, OH/Westerville South). Anderson added a goal in the final four minutes of the match to cut the Wabash lead to one, but the Little Giants shutout the Ravens over the final few minutes to preserve the win.

Junior goalie Graham Bailey (Evansville, IN/Evansville North) made five saves on six shots on goal to earn his second victory of the season. Wabash was outshot 15-11 by Anderson for the match.

The Little Giants will return to Mud Hollow Field on Tuesday in a 4 p.m. match against Taylor University.
