Little Giants Fall in Season Opener

The Wabash soccer team lost a 5-0 match to Kalamazoo College in the second game of the Wabash Soccer Classic on Saturday.

Kalamazoo scored two goals midway through the first period to take a 2-0 halftime lead. Two more goals by the Hornets in the first ten minutes of the second half sealed the victory.

Wabash junior goalie Graham Bailey (Evansville, IN/Evansville North) made nine saves as the Little Giants were outshot 27-10 by Kalamazoo. Freshman Grant Griffith (New Albany, OH/New Albany) got the only shot on goal for Wabash, coming late in the first half of action.

Wabash (0-1) will play Villa Julie College in the final game of the Soccer Classic on Sunday, September 2, at 3 p.m. at Mud Hollow Field.

DePauw University won the first game on Saturday, defeating Villa Julie 6-0.
