DeYoung Tops NCAA Championship Qualifying Standard at Butler Meet

Wabash sophomore Peter DeYoung (Evansville, IN/Evansville Bosse) topped the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship "B" qualifying standard on Saturday at the Woodland Mortgage Invitational run by Butler University.

DeYoung cleared 6' 7-1/2", tying for second place in the meet, reaching the minimum standard to participate in the NCAA Championships scheduled to take place May 24-26. He also took sixth place in the triple jump with a leap of 43' 6-1/2". Both distances were season bests for DeYoung.

Sophomore Darren Green (Dallas, TX/South Texas HS for Health Professions) set a new personal best in the 100-meter dash while finishing fourth in the finals with a time of 10.98.
