Wabash Netters Make It Seven Straight with Win over IWU

Saturday was a nearly perfect day for tennis, and the Wabash tennis team kepts its perfect record in the last seven matches in tact with a 5-2 victory over Illinois Wesleyan University.

The Little Giants opened with a sweep of the doubles portion of the match. Mike Lynch (Evansville, IN/Evansville North) and Constantine Alexander (Kokomo, IN/Kokomo) took a 9-7 victory at number one doubles. Scott Paramoure (Bath, PA/New Brownfels - Logansport) and Andrew Shelton (Indianapolis, IN/North Central) combined for an 8-6 win at number two doubles, and Daniel Altman (Monticello, IN/Twin Lakes) and Klint Schwenk (Jasper, IN/Jasper) took an 8-3 win at number three doubles.

Wabash took four of the six singles matches after the doubles sweep. Paramoure opened the action with a 6-0, 6-1 win at number three singles, as did Shelton (6-1, 6-1) at number four singles. Altman was a 6-3, 6-0 victor at number four singles to move his his singles record for the year to 14-2. Schwenk finished the win with a sweep at number six singles, winning 6-0, 6-0.

Wabash moves to 11-2 with its seventh straight victory. The Wabash College Collett Tennis Center will be the site for the GLCA Tennis Tournament April 6-7.
