Several Top Performances Lead Wabash Thinclads to Third Place at IWU

Wabash captured three first-place finishes on the way to third place in the final team standings at Saturday's Indiana Wesleyan University Invitational.

Sophomore Darren Green (Dallas, TX/South Texas HS for Health Professions) took first place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.36, finishing just ahead of teammate Scott Hoyer (West Lafayette, IN/West Lafayette). Hoyer was second in the event with a time of 52.69.

Mark Sherer (Valparaiso, IN/Valparaiso) and Zach Medler (Noblesville, IN/Noblesville) kept the one-two finishes going in the 1500 meter run. Sherer took first place with a time of 4:14.94, while Medler was second at 4:18.03.

Sophomore Peter DeYoung (Evansville, IN/Evansville Bosse) added a first-place finish in the high jump by clearing 6' 6". He took second in the long jump with a leap of 20' 4.25", with teammate Nathan Klatt (Portland, IN/Jay County) was third at 19' 01.5". DeYoung added a third-place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 39' 8".

Josh Richey (Michigantown, IN/Clinton Central) and Bob Munson (Albion, IN/Central Noble) also brought home third place finishes. Richey was third in the discus throw (131' 7") and Munson took third in the hammer throw (138' 5").
