Little Giant Netters Sweep Anderson

The Wabash tennis team won its second match in as many days, following the victory over Earlham on Wednesday with a 7-0 shutout of Anderson University at the Collett Tennis Center on Thursday evening.

The Little Giants opened with a a sweep of the doubles matches. Freshman Mike Lynch (Evansville, IN/Evansville North) and Constantine Alexander (Kokomo, IN/Kokomo) combined for an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles. Scott Paramoure (Bath, PA/New Brownfels - Logansport) and Andrew Shelton (Indianapolis, IN/North Central) followed with a perfect 8-0 sweep at No. 2 doubles. Junior Daniel Altman (Monticello, IN/Twin Lakes) and freshman Cameron Starnes (Crawfordsville, IN/Crawfordsville) completed the doubles sweep at No. 3 doubles with an 8-5 win.

Lynch moved to No. 1 singles for the first time this season, but he made the adjustment well. The freshman kept his perfect singles record in tact with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 victory. Alexander was a winner at No. 2 singles (7-6, 6-1), as was Paramoure at No. 3 singles (6-1, 6-2).

Shelton took a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 4 singles, while Altman won by the same score at No. 5 singles. Senior Klint Schwenk (Jasper, IN/Jasper) won his first match of the season at No. 6 singles after returning to the lineup from an injury, taking 9-7 pro-set win.

Wabash moves to 3-1 on the season. The Little Giants will participate in a double-dual meet on Saturday against the University of Chicago and Carnegie Mellon. The matches start at 9 a.m. at the Collett Tennis Center.
