Little Giants Earn First Conference Win Against Earlham

The Wabash College tennis team traveled to Earlham College of Wednesday night to open the 2001 North Coast Athletic Conference portion of it season. The Little Giant netters came away with a decisive 6-1 victory.

The Little Giants swept the doubles portion of the match, opening with an 8-3 victory at No. 1 doubles by Constantine Alexander (Kokomo, IN/Kokomo) and Mike Lynch (Evansville, IN/Evansville North). The No. 2 doubles team of Andrew Shelton (Indianapolis, IN/North Central) and Scott Paramoure (Bath, PA/New Brownfels - Logansport) claimed an 8-2 win, and Dan Altman (Monticello, IN/Twin Lakes) and Cameron Starnes (Crawfordsville, IN/Crawfordsville) were 8-6 winners at No. 3 doubles.

Lynch took a straight sets victory at No. 2 singles, winning 6-1, 6-2 to push his season record to 3-0. Paramoure took a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 3 singles, with Shelton winning at No. 3 singles as well.

Altman and Hadi Motiee (Muncie, IN/Muncie Burris) were also winners in singles play.

Wabash is 2-1 on the season, and 1-0 in the western division of the NCAC. The Little Giants play Anderson University on Thursday afternoon at the Collett Tennis Center at 5 p.m.
