Jozwiak Hired as Assitant Football, Track and Field Coach

Mauri Ditzler, Dean at Wabash College, has announced the hiring of Mark Jozwiak as a football offensive line coach and assistant track and field coach. Jozwiak replaces Paul Van Wie, who served as offensive line coach for the Little Giants from 1998 through last season.

Jozwiak is a 1990 graduate of Western Maryland College, earning a bachelor of arts in physical education. While at Western Maryland he was a three-year starter on the offensive line, earning all-conference honors. He was also a three-time letter winner in track and field, and was captain of the team.

"I wanted Wabash to hire an assistant coach that has a strong character, has the ability to recruit, and has extensive knowledge in coaching both the offensive line in football and be a great assistant track and field coach," said head football coach Chris Creighton. "I feel that Mark Jozwiak fits all three of those categories. He rates an A-plus in all three in my book."

Jozwiak served as graduate assistant coach at Frostburg State University, working with the defensive line and working as the strength and conditioning coordinator. He was also involved with special teams coaching and recruiting for the football team.

In 1992 he took a position as an offensive line coach at Trinity University. He was the travel coordinator, also working with special teams, recruiting, and game planning for the Trinity program.

He left Trinity after two seasons to take a position at St. Lawrence University as an assistant football and track and field coach. Jozwiak created a strength and conditioning program for the track team in addition to daily training, practice planning, and recruiting. He served as a defensive coordinator for the football program for three seasons before moving to offensive line coach in 1998.

"I'm thrilled to have someone with the type of background in coaching throwers that Mark has shown," said head track and field coach Rob Johnson. "He the opportunity to meet with our throwers while he was on campus. I think he'll bring a lot of excitement and improvement to their workouts and performances."

Jozwiak will begin his duties at Wabash in March.
