Roersma Earns Second All-Conference Award as Wabash Takes Third

Nick Roersma (Grand Rapids, MI/Northview) took second place in the three-meter diving event at the 17th North Coast Athletic Conference Championship Meet to earn All-Conference honors. The Wabash College team finished third in the final standings.

Wabash finished the nine-team event with 860 points. Kenyon won its 16th conference title with 1,623.50 points. Denison was second with 1,392.50 points, while Wittenberg took fourth place with 805.50 points. Allegheny (798 points), Wooster (650 points), Ohio Wesleyan (598.50 points), Oberlin (426 points), and Hiram (263 points) finished fifth through ninth.

Roersma had already earned All-Confercne honors with a third-place finish in the one-meter diving event before adding a second-place finish in the three-meter event with a season-best effort of 387.95 points.

Senior Paul Meyer (Indianapolis, IN/Broad Ripple) set a season-best time (2:00.28) in the preliminary round of the 200-yard butterfly, finishing in eighth place in the finals with a time of 2:00.68 in the finals. R.J. Morgan (Indianapolis, IN/North Central) took eighth in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:58.24.

Wabash will battle DePauw in the final dual meet of the season on Friday, February 24. The meet will take place at 7 p.m. at the Class of 1950 Natatorium.
