Wabash Fourth Heading Into Final Day of Conference Championship

The Wabash College swimming and diving team is fourth heading into the final day of the North Coast Athletic Conference Championship Meet at Canton, OH.

Kenyon leads the event with 1,092.5 points with Denison in second place (897.5 points). Wittenberg has moved into third place with 567 points. The Little Giants are fifth (545 points), Allegheny is sixth (523 points), and Ohio Wesleyan is seventh (442 points). Oberlin (277 points) and Hiram (188 points) round out the two-day results.

Wabash continued to record top times of the season on Friday. Junior R.J. Morgan (Indianapolis, IN/North Central) recorded the best time of the season for the Little Giants in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 53.34, earning fifth place in the event. Morgan joined with teammates Craig Haupert (Cedar Lake, IN/Lowell), Brandon Peacock (Crawfordsville, IN/Crawfordsville), and Ben Long (Zionsville, IN/Zionsville) to set a season-best time of 1:35.82 in the 200 medley relay. Their time also reached the NCAA "B" cut qualifying time.

Nick Collins (Michigantown, IN/Clinton Central) set a top time for the year in the 400-yard individual medley, earning a fourth-place finish after advancing to the finals with a time of 4:20.67. Dean Fox (Aurora, IN/South Dearborn) took 10th with a time of 4:24.94.

Haupert also took sixth place in the 100 breaststroke (59.40).

The final day of the NCAC meet will take place on Saturday at the C.T. Branin Natatorium in Canton, OH.
