Hammer Selected To USA Football All-American Team

Wabash College senior defensive tackle B.J. Hammer (Carmel, IN/Carmel) has been named to the USA Football First Team All-American 2000 squad.

Hammer set Wabash records for quarterback sacks in a season (15) and in a career (27.5), and set the mark for tackles for loss for the season (23) and career (58). He also set the Wabash record with a 93-yard fumble return against Allegheny College. Hammer scored the first touchdown of his career with a 64-yard fumble recovery and return against Manchester College. The Wabash co-captain earned First Team All-Conference honors in the North Coast Athletic Conference and was selected as a member of the Aztec Bowl US All-Star team. Hammer was named the Most Valuable Player for the Little Giants this season. He finished the season with 60 tackles
