Soccer Team Falls In Final Home Match

The Wabash soccer team honored its senior players on Saturday in the final home match at Mud Hollow Field this season. Ohio Wesleyan spoiled the festivities by handing the Little Giants a 5-0 defeat.

Three first-half goals put the game away for Ohio Wesleyan. Wabash managed two shots on goal from senior Matt Will (Indianapolis, IN/Roncalli) and sophomore Chris Buresh (LaPorte, IN/LaPorte). Goalies Graham Bailey (Evansville, IN/Evansville North) and Tom Gaff (Kendallville, IN/East Noble) faced 11 shots on goal in the match.

Seniors Will, Ben Robinson (Indianapolis, IN/North Central), Matt Loesch (Greenwood, IN/Center Grove), Alex Manker (Grand Rapids, MI/Northview), Momodou Jagne (Banjul, Gambia/Gambia), and Mike Coffey (Greenwood, IN/Center Grove) were recognized before the game for their contributions this season.

Wabash (4-13, 0-9) will complete the season this Tuesday as the team travel to Washington University in St. Louis, MO for a 7 p.m. contest.
