PSY 497 Senior Seminar
The focus of the senior seminar in Psychology is to provide students with
a broad grounding in the historical roots of the discipline. By the end of
the course students should understand and be able to evaluate critically
the diversity of viewpoints about human nature and behavior, as
represented over the course of psychology's history. Readings and
discussion will focus both on the historical foundations of experimental
psychology and the principle traditions in the history of personality
theory and psychotherapy. All students will complete a major research
paper on a topic of their choosing. This course is offered in the fall
